Guerlain has just released a new limited edition fragrance, a variation of the legendary Shalimar. The name Ode a la Vanille pretty much reveals what this new formulation is about, combining Mayotte vanilla tincture and Madagascar vanilla absolute around Shalimar's lemon, bergamot, rose, jasmine, iris, incense, opoponax and tonka bean notes. Early reviews describe this fragrance as surprisingly drier than Shalimar, and not necessarily sweeter, as one would naturally assume, with a darker drydown aiken to bitter chocolate. But we all know its all in the nose of the beholder.
This variation will be packaged in the new Jade Jagger designed bottle and will be available in NZ around the end of October. The price will be $185 NZD available only in a 50ml EDP spray at Guerlain counters.
Doesn't the packaging look stunning? I hope its every bit as good as I am anticipating it will be.
